Oil on canvas, 90cm x 90cm. While painting this I tried to evoke  that almost magical feeling when the tide stops moving for a few seconds before changing direction and starting to flow out again. If you are on a moored boat when this happens you swing round and find yourself looking in the opposite direction, then you can see each boat further down the channel swing round as the tide reaches it.
