Between Lavender and Light captures the fleeting beauty of a summer garden bathed in soft, diffused light. Lavender-blue spires and delicate pink blossoms emerge through layers of translucent colour, their forms dissolving into an impression of movement, warmth and memory.
Inspired by my own garden, the painting moves beyond direct observation to explore the feeling of being immersed in flowers on a still summer day. Loose, expressive brushwork and subtle shifts of colour invite the eye to wander, revealing moments of clarity before they melt back into the whole. Rather than depicting a specific place, Between Lavender and Light evokes the quiet, dreamlike atmosphere of summer itself.
Oil on canvas, 100cm x 75cm
